FAQ

Is your spa private and boutique-style?

Yes. Sanctuary Spa NYC is an intimate, boutique space focused on personalized care, privacy, and a calm, welcoming experience for one person. No crowded waiting rooms or rushed treatments.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Arrive a few minutes early, avoid heavy skincare treatments beforehand, and come ready to relax. For facials, discontinue retinol or glycolic acid use at least two days prior if applicable.

What facial is best for my skin type?

Every facial at Sanctuary Spa NYC is customized. During your visit, your skin will be assessed and the treatment will be tailored to your concerns, whether that’s acne, sensitivity, hydration, aging, or pigmentation.

What is included in your facials?

Our facials typically include double cleansing, exfoliation, light extractions, a treatment mask and foot massage for a full relaxation experience. Finished with a facial massage with facial appropriate finishing products. Several services include LED light therapy or HF Light (blue light anti bacterial or red anti aging)

Is this spa suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. We work with gentle, results-driven products and techniques designed to respect the skin barrier. If you have sensitivities or allergies, please let us know before your treatment.

Do you offer acne facials?

Yes. We specialize in acne-focused treatments, including our Acne Lift Facial for mild to persistent breakouts. Treatments include deep cleansing, exfoliation, Blue LED or High Frequency light, targeted serums, and optional extractions to support clearer, healthier skin over time.

Are massages and facials safe during pregnancy?

Select treatments are safe during pregnancy, including the Mommy To Be Facial. During the 1st trimester of pregnancy massage is contraindicated.  I will fully refund for any booked massages. Please inform us in advance so we can guide you appropriately.

Do you perform extractions?

Yes, when appropriate. Extractions are done gently and only when the skin is ready. We never force extractions, as we prioritize long-term skin health.

How often should I get a facial or massage?

Most clients benefit from monthly treatments, but this depends on your skin goals, lifestyle, and stress levels. We’ll recommend a cadence that works best for you.
